IoT data SIMs
A multi-network SIM that connects to the strongest available network rather than a steered “preferred” operator — so there is virtually no downtime from a single-network outage. Allowances run from 1MB for a quiet alarm circuit up to 150GB for data-heavy devices. Static IPs are available for hosted products such as voice. Unsteered, plug-and-play, and billed as one SIM.
5G rapid connectivity
A user-friendly 4G/5G service with unlimited data (fair usage applies), a public static IP and low latency. Networks are EE, Vodafone or O2 — a postcode check decides the best fit. Use it as pre-Ethernet, as a primary connection, or as backup. Routers are specified to the site: a compact unit if you already have a LAN, or a stand-alone device if you do not.
Contract shapes for 5G
Pre-Ethernet: a short commitment then 30-day rolling, so you are not locked in once the fixed line lands. Backup: 12-, 24- or 36-month terms, delivered as cold or warm standby depending on the infrastructure. Indoor or outdoor antennas and cable extensions are available for hard-to-reach plant rooms or metal buildings.
IoT as a stepping stone
Provide a router and 4G SIMs, start billing from day one before Ethernet arrives, then convert the same link to backup once the fixed line is live. Ask whether the customer may move premises — that changes whether a fixed circuit is worth it.
